Being Church
This series will look at the book of Acts as the story of the early church and God's interaction with it through the Holy Spirit .

We have picked out passages that describe the churches growth and structures and how they developed together.

Aim of the Series
It is hoped this will emphasise our continuing development as a church, underpin and stabilise the church and prepare for the future.

Key points
To emphasise our Unity, our gifts and talents and how we can grow working with each other in encouragement.

Francis Maull
Feb 14th A Stable Church

Francis Maull will continue the series looking at Acts 2 vs 42 -47
A description of the very young church in Jerusalem. Despite its age it was a stable fellowship. Caring for one another and simply relating to each other and to the world outside. How can we build our relationships? How do we avoid complications? Looking at how stable we are - what are the foundations of our unity? What do we have in common?

Phill Vickery
Feb 21 An Active Church

Phill Vickery will take us to the Church in Antioch in Acts 11 vs 19-30. This is a new church founded in a new city following the dispersal of the early church in Jerusalem following persecution. This is the church from which Paul and Barnabas launched their missionary journeys. It was where the term Christian was first used. Barnabas was sent to this new fellowship to encourage and build it up. What can we learn from this growing church ? How do the various gifts work together within the church to make it an active church? Being the body together. We all have gifts and tasks to complete all are important. Prophets, active givers and people who react to God .- How do we listen to God and act upon it?
How do we act as Barnabas to each other and encourage these gifts?

St.Davids mission
Feb 28 A Growing Church

Looking at Acts 4 23-31 and 2vs47. Uncertainty and persecution leads to growth and encourages the early church to rely on God where they find certainty and strength. The Church is described as having favour with all people and adding to their numbers daily. That is the organic outreach we are seeking here at Broad Haven.
One of the Walk St David’s team will lead our thoughts and challenge us to be involved with the Walk St David’s Mission later on in the Year.
Service Host Francis Maull.

Stephen Finamore

March 7th An Open Church

Stephen Finamore from Bristol Baptist College will look at the new Church in Ephesus in
Acts 18 Vs 24-28. Here Priscilla and Aquila part of Paul’ apostolic team enlist and train a new team member. We look at their openness in accepting Apollos and the leadership Priscilla and Aquilla.
How did the team work together? What model of church does this point to for us today ?
Service Host: Francis Maull
Stephen will also be leading the preaching team in an in depth study of Ephesians, later that day, in preparation for a future series in May

Kevin Scott
March 14th A loving Church

Kevin Scott - our latest recruit to the preaching and teaching team will lead our thoughts from Acts 4 32-37. Out of the unity and community of the early church grew a system of sharing and inter dependence that met one another’s needs. This story features that man Barnabas again, “the son of encouragement”. How do we grow this kind of fellowship today? This will also be an opportunity for us as a church to verify Kevin’s possible call to full time ministerial training.
Service Host: David Taylor

Sunday Services

Sunday Services

Every Sunday morning a congregation of approximately 100 people of all ages and backgrounds enjoy lively worship led by various musicians, many of whom are teenagers.

The whole church starts together and then the under 6's leave for Kid's Praise in an adjoining hall.

The older children leave later for their own Sunday School classes, whilst the adults usually have a time of open prayer before the sermon.

We are blessed with a number of very able preachers, many of whom regularly take services in local churches as part of an Association Preaching Team.

The congregation are regularly inspired and challenged by the preaching of God's Word.
