Friday 3rd---5th September
‘When you fast....’ As part of our preparation for the Walk Saint David mission we are invited to take part, along with other participating churches, in a 40 day fast
. Jesus taught his disciples how to conduct themselves when they fasted. Fasting was an accepted discipline, which showed the earnestness of the pray-er, and gave opportunity to use the meal time to pray, instead of eating, at that time.
Our church has been signed up to fast and pray on Friday 3rd-Sunday 5th September. We can sign up to forego breakfast, lunch or the evening meal on one or more days.
On Sunday 5th September we are hoping that a few people will sign up to fast at lunch time, which will give us the opportunity to pray together after the morning service.
Please pray about whether God wants you to be involved, and sign the sheet which will be available over coffee and tea each Sunday.

Sunday 5th September
As well as being the final day of the fast, this Sunday will be an all-age service at 10.30am in the Village Hall. We will be coming together as a church family to receive again the as-surance that God is with us and for us, that we are His people, and that we are committed to following His way for each of us and for the whole church. This follows several sermons back in July when the idea of "covenant" was explored, and when the deacons felt the beginning of September would be an appro-priate time for us to renew our promises to each other and to God.
